8 Gifts That Pet Lovers Will Cherish

Some consider pet ownership a rite of passage into adulthood. Pets are common in households across the U.S. — a whopping 70% of American homes have a pet. Pet lovers everywhere really enjoy receiving pet-themed gifts. Whether for themselves or their pet, here are some of the best gifts that pet lovers will cherish forever!

  1. A Christmas stocking for their pet. They can include their pet in every holiday, especially Christmas, if they have a stocking! Get them a personalized pet stocking to hang on their mantle or with the rest of their family stockings during the holidays. It’s a great gift for the animal lover in your life! Personalize it with their name or paw print or have their picture placed on it to really go the extra mile. You can create a unique gift that they’ll cherish for years to come.
  2. A picture frame with their pet’s name. What pet lover doesn’t have a bunch of random pictures of their pet, either in their phone’s camera album or printed out? Some pet owners even have professional photo shoots of their pet taken at different points of their life. They’ll need a photo frame to put their prized photos of their pets in. Get them a picture frame with their pet’s name engraved on it — it’s a tried and true gift that will always knock it out of the park.
  3. A set of food and water bowls. Pets need their food and water bowls changed out every once in a while. And, for pets who have gastrointestinal issues, that sometimes means their owners have to find them a set of dishes that are elevated or angled.

If they’ve recently found out their pet needs specialized food and water dishes, consider ordering them as a gift. This will show them that you not only care about their pets, but you understand just how difficult pet ownership can be. Go a step further and give them a matching placemat for under their pets’ dishes too! A sweet mat is a great personalized pet gift to give along with the set of good bowls. The full set really makes a difference!

  1. An ornament for their Christmas tree. Keeping with some holiday suggestions, an ornament is always a good gift to give a pet lover. Pet owners love to show off their pet in a variety of ways, especially if their furry friend has recently passed on. It can be a tough first holiday season without them, and having an ornament to hang in their honor is a great way for pet owners to feel like their four legged (or amphibian!) companion is still around in some way.

They can hang it even after the holiday season is over too. All they will need to do is put a hook or nail up on a wall, near a mirror or even over by the pets’ favorite sleeping spot and hang the ornament there until next holiday season. This way, their pet can stay out among the family long after the Christmas season has completed.

2 A digital print of their pet. Lots of graphic designers these days specialize in making unique pieces of art from the pictures you have of your pet. If you think they’d love an oil canvas or even a cartoon version of a fun photo of their pet, consider ordering a digital print.

You can either send it to them directly, have the company frame it and ship it or decide to try your own hand at graphic design by downloading an app that lets you make designs from photos, such as Procreate. This is great for anyone who’s artsy — both for you as the gift giver and them as the receiver! Bonus points if you choose a photo that has both them and their pet featured.

3  A garden stone to lay out in their yard. Because pets are often such a big part of our lives, having something to remember them by when they leave us is important. A garden stone is a sweet pet memorial gift you can give to a pet lover who either just recently lost their pet or someone who you know has lost their pet and doesn’t yet have a way to memorialize them.

Because pets can run away, some pet owners might not even know whether their pet is alive, so a garden stone is a touching tribute to their pet, no matter where they are. Garden stones look great in backyards, between shrubs along the edge of a home and even as a stone in with all the other pavers. You can’t go wrong with a garden stone as a gift for a pet lover!

  1. A throw pillow with their dogs’ face on it. Anything with their pet on it is a definite choice! It’ll look great on their couch and is perfect for when they want to take a nap or lounge on the couch while watching a movie. Every pet lover would love to receive a custom throw pillow with their pets’ name, image or even their birthday printed on it. It’s the perfect choice for pet lovers everywhere. You can’t go wrong with it, and they will love getting to snuggle with their pup and their custom throw pillow.
  2. Covers for their pets’ paws. When the summer weather starts, they’ll need something to keep their pets’ paws from burning on the pavement. If they take their dog out for a walk in the summer weather and don’t do anything to protect their dogs’ feet, they can suffer from paw pad burn. Get them some paw pad covers as a way to keep their dogs’ paw pads from burning in the summertime! They’ll love that you’ve chosen something that keeps their pet safe. Without a set of covers, they could suffer some serious damage. You’d be doing your part and showing how much you care about them — and their pup.
